"Children's paths in times of war" is a collection of personal testimonies from refugee children who were hosted in the Centers for Unaccompanied Minors, of the organization "Kinoniko EKAV". It is a book dedicated to children who have gone through and are going through the horrors of war. More than 2,000 of these children who have lost their families are now in our country. These "unaccompanied minors", as we call them somewhat coldly in administrative documents, have lost everything.  Not only their home, their village or their town, like any other refugee, but also the embrace of their mother, the affection of their father, and even the simple presence of a relative.

Another year coming to an end...

A year full of events, experiences and emotions that we all experienced together and each one of us individually in our own way, in the large team of the Kinoniko EKAV.

Every year that passes seems to be more and more demanding. Today, just before we say goodbye to 2023, we reflect on all that we have tried, what we have achieved, but also on our difficulties and disappointments. We do not even put aside our failures, because they teach us, they give us knowledge to face new challenges.

At the Kypseli Municipal Market, a "Christmas solidarity celebration" will take place, with free admission and a good cause, by the Social EKAB!
The humanitarian organization Kinoniko EKAV, invites again this year its friends and all citizens who wish to enjoy an original celebration in the heart of our Athens, at the Christmas solidarity celebration, which will take place at the Municipal Market of Kypseli on Friday, December 15, from 12:00 to 21:00.

It was with great pleasure that we held our first joint action with the group "Organization Earth" in October. Unaccompanied minors who are hosted in the accommodation centers of the Kinoniko EKAV, gathered at the "Nefeli 2" Facility located in Penteli and with the guidance of the instructors of "Organization Earth", they took part in an environmental workshop, and later they gave their all in the sports and psychomotor activities prepared by the team.

A group of FIFA employee volunteers participated in our celebration, as part of the implementation of a programme with Organisation Earth that includes sports, environmental and social activities with unaccompanied minors. The activities ended with a group lunch that gave us the opportunity to talk, get to know each other and share our stories.

A new season is coming so all the members and employess of Kinoniko EKAV gathered in early September at the wonderful space of Impact Hub Athens, in order to hold the first training seminar for the period 2023- 2024.

The presentations were focused on child protection, conflict management, personal data protection and protocols for natural disaster management and emergency response.

Art united us once again, with the performance "Go to come back".  Young refugees and a group of teenagers from Athens conquered the stage of the Greek National Opera thanks to the Co - OPERAtive!

For the second year,  Kinoniko EKAV continued its collaboration with the Department of Educational and Social Actions of the Greek National. For us it is valuable to have institutions that embrace our children, refugee children living in Greece without their families. The participation of teenagers in the Co - Operative workshop program, contributes decisively to one of our fundamental goals: the integration of these children into Greek society!
