"ΣUPER" - Intercultural theatre performance with the participation of underage refugees of the Social EKAB

For the third consecutive year, the Kinoniko EKAV collaborated with the Educational & Social Actions of the National Opera House, through the Co OPERAtive* program.

Refugee teenagers residing in the Kinoniko EKAV’s Accommodation Centres took part in the six-month workshops together with a group of Athenian teenagers, resulting in a cross-cultural musical theatre performance entitled "SUPER" on Friday, May 31st!

"What were my dreams when I was young?"

"What are they now?"

"Finally, which superhero do I want to be?"

The children unfolded in front of us their thoughts, concerns and worries about the concept of identity, mobility, dreams and rights. As every year, the performance left the audience speechless and they broke into applause.  The team of the Social HCV, friends and partners, but also the Secretary General for Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection, Hercules Moskov and the Head of Integration and Support for Unaccompanied Minors, Geli Aroni, were there for this important moment for the teenage participants.

We would like to thank the instructors and the program's participants, who every year open a channel of communication between refugee children and society through the art of theatre and music.

*Co-OPERAtive was implemented in close cooperation between the National Opera, the Kinoniko EKAV and European Expression.
