Like every year, this year, the children hosted in our Shelters had the opportunity to visit museums and archeological sites in their area. The teenage guests of the "Nefeli 2" Shelter, "climbed" the rock of Acropolis, while in the previous days they took part in a course dedicated to the history and the evolution of the monuments we see today at the site.
The children of the "Nefeli 1" and "Kallisti 1" Shelters, took part in the educational program "Toys in Ancient Greece" and enjoyed a visit to the National Archaeological Museum. What impressed them the most, were the statues, but also the crafts they made during the educational program!
For the "Kallisti 3" Shelter, the day had a visit to the Diachronic Museum of Larissa. The boys saw the history of the area unfolding in front of them, through exhibits from the Prehistoric to the Ottoman period!
Finally, the "Kallisti 2" Shelter visited the Goulandris Museum of Natural History! The excitement of the children is indescribable. Many children were impressed to see wild animals from their countries of origin and had many stories to tell! But what interested them most, was the earthquake simulator. None of the children had ever had such an experience, and the "earthquake chair" in the exhibition will surely be unforgettable to them!
