New Living Perspectives - Training Workshop in Athens

The final workshop of the Erasmus+ project "New Living Perspectives" took place on 13 March with the topic "Housing problems in our cities".

Architects, social workers, members of the Kinoniko EKAV organization, a representative of the Municipality of Ilion, as well as the people who took part in the training sessions of the programme in Rome and Valladolid, developed a substantial discussion on housing problems. Identifying the sources of the current problems, they developed thoughts on possible ways of solving them through the establishment of Symbiotic Communities.

The New Living Perspectives project was created in response to the observation of the abandonment of public housing policies in European cities, leading to new inequalities, exacerbating past problems, and causing a real housing emergency to erupt.

In recent years, in the context of housing policies, the Symbiotic Communities have become increasingly successful as an alternative. With these communities, social sustainability can be achieved at the neighbourhood level, contributing to the ecological transition and the fight against climate change and social exclusion.

- The New Living Perspectives programme, funded by Erasmus +, highlights the role of living together, achieving a socially and ecologically sustainable quality of life in cities and operates under the New European Bauhaus programme, contributing to the objectives of the European Green Deal.
