A new course of Participatory Photography in our Shlelters

A new photography course begins our Unaccompanied Minors' Shelters, under the guidance of photographer Christina Vazou.

First stop, the history of the camera.
Through an interactive journey, the teenage boys discover basic visual issues through a paper camera obscura and then, through personal exploration, they learn how to use better the cameras of their mobile phones.

Participatory photography is a way to give voice to people who are usually photographed by us, who are outside of their immediate reality. This process works inspiringly and opens new horizons. Participants learn to photograph consciously their environment, using basic techniques and living creatively in their new place of residence. They are given the opportunity to tell stories and share their own point of view. At the same time, they realize various dimensions of photography and art.
